Exploring the Frontiers of AI to Strengthen Our Core Technology
At Nalantis, we continuously innovate to ensure that our core Talent Management technology remains robust, generalizable, and cutting-edge. Our AI R&D Lab applies our technology in research-oriented side projects that allow us to experiment with new models, libraries, and use cases beyond our main HR applications.
These projects, sometimes internally initiated and sometimes part of EU-funded consortia, explore a wide range of domains and methodologies. Insights gained—from lines of code to evaluation strategies and modular architectures—flow back into our Talent Management solutions, enhancing transparency, explainability, and overall performance.
Key Focus Areas
Exploration of Foundation Models
Testing new AI models and libraries in diverse research contexts.
Generalizable Core Technology
Making our core algorithms more modular, scalable, and adaptable.
Research-Driven Innovation
Applying experimental solutions from side projects to Talent Management workflows.
Selected research projects
-
ESG Reporting
Our work on the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standards (VSR) for SMEs helps ESG consultants analyze large, heterogeneous document collections—annual reports, press releases, social media posts—to generate accurate reports. This mirrors how recruiters sift through CVs to find the best candidates, while allowing us to experiment with open and closed-source foundation models that aren’t restricted by GDPR. -
Smart Cities – Semcity Project
In this 2-year Eurostars-funded research project, we partnered with Serendipity to develop AI tools for public servants in smart cities. Large language models help answer questions on legislative documents at local, national, and EU levels. Emphasis on accountability and source traceability mitigates hallucinations, aligning with our commitment to transparency and explainability. -
Urban Air Mobility & Drone Compliance
As part of a 3-year EU-funded consortium with 13 partners from 6 countries, including Maastricht University, Nalantis worked on converting human-oriented legal texts into structured, machine-readable instructions for autonomous vehicles. Accuracy and compliance are critical, and our AI solutions ensure that flight rules are interpreted reliably by emerging machine and deep learning approaches.
Driving Innovation into Talent Management
Research insights from the AI R&D Lab—whether code, evaluation strategies, or experimental frameworks—feed back into our Talent Management platform. This ensures that our HR solutions remain at the forefront of AI technology while maintaining the highest standards of explainability, reliability, and fairness.
